Extra-curricular activities

Although the main focus at KIST is on academics, a wide range of extra-curricular activities are also provided for students in Grades 1 and above to participate in athletics and the arts, enjoy a balanced school experience, and try out new hobbies, skills and interests.

A variety of cultural, sporting and academic clubs are offered on a semester basis after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. For Elementary students (Grades 1 and above), clubs begin at 3:30 p.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. School buses are available for students to return home at this time. For Secondary students, clubs begin at 3:50 p.m. and end at 5:00, 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. depending on the activity. School buses are not available at these times.

The clubs offered vary from semester to semester and from year to year in order for students to experience a range of activities throughout their enrollment, and are sometimes offered according to the particular skills or talents of teachers. Student-led clubs may also be offered, under the supervision of teachers. In some semesters, club activities led by community members or external organizations may also be arranged on Mondays and Thursdays after school.

Some of the general clubs offered in recent years have included:
