Parent code of conduct

Adults responsible for providing care to children at home—parents, guardians, stepparents, grandparents, extended family members and other caregivers (hereinafter referred to collectively as ‘parents’)—play a formative role in the development of children’s sense of justice, honesty, fairness and the acceptance of all members of the school community regardless of age, gender, nationality/ethnicity or religion. As one of the most influential role models within a child’s life, parents, as members of the KIST community, hold the responsibility to promote and uphold the core values of our school by modelling appropriate behaviors when participating in school activities or when interacting with members of the school community.

We are fortunate at KIST to have a very supportive, considerate and friendly community of parents who recognize that educating children is a process that requires a positive partnership between home and school and understand the importance of cooperative working relationships. As such, we welcome and encourage parents to participate fully in the life of our school. In order to maintain cooperative relationships and ensure a safe and positive environment for the entire school community, we believe it is important to identify the basic standards of conduct expected of all KIST parents.

The Parent Code of Conduct, similar to the Student Code of Conduct, is organized around three standards of conduct as listed below. These are expanded further through one or more principles that define particular aspects of each standard.
