School lunch service

The school café—Café Tomato—is an independent, privately-owned and operated company that provides an optional lunch service for students.

All meals are prepared on site daily by professional chefs using organic or near-organic produce. The monthly menu changes every two or three months and is well balanced with a different type of main meal each day of the week. These include beef, chicken and seafood. Side dishes such as salad, rice, fresh fruit, soup and bread are also provided depending on the type of meal. Drinks are not included.

The café is unable to cater for students with allergies or special dietary requirements. These students should bring lunch from home. Vegetarian options are not available.

Registration for the school lunch service is accepted on a 3-session system based on the main school vacation periods (Session 1: August–December; Session 2: January–March; Session 3: April–June) and continues from year to year until cancelled. School lunch may be ordered for every day of the week or for certain days only.

Fees for the school lunch service are collected by the school on behalf of the café. Fees per meal are as follows. Prices in parentheses include 10% consumption tax.

Kindergarten size:
520 yen (572 yen)
Elementary size:
620 yen (682 yen)
Secondary size:
640 yen (704 yen)

For students who do not wish to order the regular school lunch service, a variety of other daily meals are also available to purchase separately from the café.
